Hmm.....

It's gonna be New Year soon... thoughts and emotions were just going through my mind on things happening in the year 2008. Life in 2008 is like a roller coaster ride..... there were extreme highs and lows. Happened to past by 2ndhamsterlord 's blog and was also looking at my collection of Pon and Zi's pictures and was inspired to create something.

Decided to create something all of a sudden... and something that I've done within 1 hr.... it's just a normal design I guess....

There's no need for a lot of conversation.
Sometimes just by sitting quietly, it may seems to be the best conversation ever.

When did you last really celebrated anything?

When did you last see the fireworks?
I can't remember mine. Maybe few years back?

Life may be a struggle


Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward for the year 2009.
In life we can never predict what would happen,
Things can change for the better,
or get worse.

But, always hope for the best and prepare for the worse.

And remember, if you ever need someone just to sit quietly by the side,
I'll be there! =D

Some pasts may be daunting to some.
Let us all keep the good memories and leave those unhappy one behinds.
Do not carry those unhappy baggages into 2009.
You can only carry one handcarry.
Either the happy ones or the sad ones.
The choice is yours!
Be EMO for the last time in 2008.
And bring a better you into 2009 for a fresh start!

Shoes

I can't believe I bought 3 pair of shoes in just 1 month. My colleague who just came back from leave told me she just bought 4 pairs! =X

Okay..... 1st pair was no choice.... need to attend Dinner the other time:

And remember I said my flat shoes was spoilt when I was in Bangkok? This will replace that flat shoes:

I didn't know this shoes looks like Adidas shoes till my friend told me.... *slow again*

Hmm.... maybe that's all for now? I don't know. But I may need a closed toe mid heel shoes? =X But anyway my CNY shoes are done...... guess maybe gonna get 1 more dress and my shopping for CNY is done. Saw a red-black tube dress the other day at vivo.... looks quite nice when I tried it on... even huihui think so too.... but seems a little ex..... Shall see if I can find better deal elsewhere.....

The Gift of Life

Saw this on hC's blog and decided to share with all..... saw this long time ago, somewhere.... Anyway, this is the entry:

On the very first day, God created the cow. He said to the cow, “Today I have created you! As a cow, you must go to the field with the farmer all day long. You will work all day under the sun! I will give you a life span of 50 years.”

The cow objected, “What? This kind of a tough life you want me to live for 50 years? Let me have 20 years, and the 30 years I’ll give back to you.” So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the dog. God said to the dog, “You are supposed to do is to sit all day by the door of your house. Any people that come in, you will have to bark at them! I’ll give a life span of 20 years.”

The dog objected, “What? All day long to sit by the door? No way! I give you back my other 10 years of life!” So God agreed.

On the third day, God created the monkey. He said to the monkey, “Monkeys have to entertain people. You’ve got to make them laugh and do monkey tricks. I’ll give you 20 years life span.”

The monkey objected. “What? Make them laugh? Do monkey faces and tricks? Ten years will do, and the other 10 years I’ll give you back.” So God agreed.

On the fourth day, God created man and said to him, “Your job is to sleep, eat, and play. You will enjoy very much in your life. All you need to do is to enjoy and do nothing. This kind of life, I’ll give you a 20 year life span.”

The man objected. “What? Such a good life! Eat, play, sleep, do nothing? Enjoy the best and you expect me to live only for 20 years? No way, man!….Why don’t we make a deal? Since the cow gave you back 30 years, and the dog gave you back 10 years and the monkey gave you back 10 years, I will take them from you! That makes my life span 70 years, right?” So God agreed.

AND THAT’S WHY…. In our first 20 years, we eat, sleep, play, enjoy the best and do nothing much. For the next 30 years, we work all day long, suffer and get to support the family. For the next 10 years, we entertain our grandchildren by making monkey faces and monkey tricks. And for the last 10 years, we stay at home, sit by the front door and bark at people!

BATA Shoes

I seriously think I'm not going to buy any BATA shoes anymore. Despite me not wearing my shoes when I'm at work after I reached office, it still get spoilt so easily.

Maybe like what Alvin has said before when I bought my BATA shoes the other time:

BATA = Buy And Throw Away.

Maybe I should just wear my outside shoes to work since I no need to wear any shoes when I see the kids. =P

Resolutions for Year 2009

I know it is kinda early for that, but it's better to be early than late right?

Thus, let me do a recap of my 2008's Resolutions here and see how many has been achieved before I set my new goals:

2008

• To clear all my NYP study bank loan by 2008
  
(I cleared my NYP Loan by Nov 2008 but started my mother's CPF and my Latrobe Loan)

• Of course to start to do my degree conversion by 2009
(If you guys followed my blog, you would have known that I started my degree in September.)

• To save my 1st $10 000 by end 2008
(I once did see my bank account exceeded $10,000 but that wasn't for long as I had to pay the remaining of my La Trobe school fees after I took up the loan and I also took up my FACIAL package)

• To run at least 1 half and 1 full marathon by end 2008
(I withdrew the recent 21km as I wasn't prepared for it and I rather give up the run than give up my BKK trip should anything happen to me if I choose to run)
• To get a new lappie/ PC
  (I'm now blogging from my1st LAPTOP!)
• To go overseas with family at least once a year
(Hmm... not yet.... maybe next year bah.....)
• If I can afford... to do my master before I turn 28
(I don't know about this. It is already so tiring doing my degree. I think I will want a break after my degree first.)
• To have at least 2 social activities/ gathering per month
(Depends with who bah....)
• To play a sport
  
(does jogging considered a sports?)
• To get a driving license
(I intending to... but no car for me to drive leh....)
• To go overseas by July 2008
(I went to Pahang for an adventure trip in june.... does it considered? And of course the RECENT trip to BKK!!!! =D )
• To go backpacking
(This will be next year plan.... anyone?? )
• To sleep better.... how i dunno.....
(I don't know if I am sleeping well..... )
• Go out more often...
(I dunno if I did....)
• Cook more.... bake more....
(I want to.... but cook for myself where got nice?)

Time for 2009's Resolutions:

Those not able to achieve in 2008 will be brought forward to 2009.....

2009

• Run 1/2 and Full marathon ( that includes all the normal jogging and training)
  
• Go overseas with family
• Go overseas with friends
  
• Go backpacking
  
• Driving license
• Better beauty and dental care (thinking of going for braces... hmm....)
  
• Do well in my degree
• Do volunteer work overseas
• Spend more time with friends and loved ones
• Save MORE money (so that me and my future husband-to-be will have good life)
  
• Be someone of importance to someone

Things to do before 30 years old:

• Travel for 1/2 year backpacking around
• Bungee Jumping

Christmas Gift

I know I'm late.... but there are 12 days to Christmas right, aren't there? *excuses*

I finally managed to hunt for that something that I always wanted to buy for someone at Queensway.

Every time I stepped into that shop in Tampines Mall, I always had the urge to buy. In the end, I didn't.

8 months later, it seems that it's a good reason to buy..... cause it's CHRISTMAS! The season was over. It cannot be found in that shops in Tampines Mall and Vivocity, etc. I guess the last possibilities will be Queensway.

And after searching the whole building, only 2 shops have it. One shop only had 1 colour. The other had the 2 colours. And the shop that has the 2 colours was the last shop that I decided to settle for since it has the size too.

What did I actually buy?

It's for me to know, for you to find out.

Weird Dream

I had a weird dream this morning. About a friend asking from the Chinese Gods for some answers. 3 options were given - A, B, or Neither A or B. The answer given was neither A or B. And my friend seems to be happy and relieved with the answer. The weird thing was, this friend of mine was not even a follower of Chinese Gods but a Christian.

And I also went to "ask" for answer. But before I can do that, my mom woke me up as I was sleeping in the living room and she wants to pray to the gods and ask me to go her room to sleep.
My dream didn't continue. How good it will be if the dream can be pause, and replay.

What answer did I want to ask subconsciously?

I guess only my sub-conscious will know... ...

Wall - E and Eve Ah....

I just finished watching Wall-E movie. Although Wall-E is just a robot, he is such a sweet and nice "guy". He did so much for Eve. In the movie he so cute la.... wanted to hold Eve's hand but don't dare.

Towards the end of the movie, Wall-E almost forgotten about Eve when Eve helped to change parts of his body, which I supposed including his memory. Maybe it was the "RAM"? lolx....

But anyway, they managed to be together afterall. And Eve hold his hand first! So sweet....


Another story learnt from the movie. Nowadays people are so reliant on technology. Maybe in the future, we would also be living like the humans in the movie, where we need not make a single movement, i.e. walking and even brushing our own teeth! Everything can be via voice control or through the touch of the screen. And soon, we may lost the physical touch of human being.

Thus, we should STOP and spent lesser time on computers - Facebook-ing, MSN-ing, Friendster-ing, etc before we lose the way to interact with others in real life. =D

Learning to say "No" for some, "yes" for others.

Sometimes it is difficult to say "no" to others, especially you are those kind-hearted person or when you felt obliged to do something.

While for some, who always say 'no' to things, should start to say "yes". And be a ... ...

Aside from the movie, sometimes in life, for some kind ones, we should learn to say 'no' so that people will not take us for granted. I'm not saying I'm one of the kind ones.... but sometimes as much as possible, if things are within my means I will try to help. While some others, the more pessimist type, should try to say "yes" . I'm not in the position to describe how a pessimist person feels or think, as maybe I'm those who always look for light at the end of the tunnel. And hope for better things to come, which may or may not come.

Nevertheless, I never give up hope and possibilities. On the other hand, I should say "yes" to things that I've never try before. If there is a chance, I would like to try BUNGEE JUMPING!!!

I met up with Huihui for a lunch and a catch-up session. We've decided on White Dog Cafe@Vivocity. White Dog Cafe is not a cafe for dog. It is just like other restaurant for humans.

I can be quite good in taking photos by ourselves with my own handphone camera. But with others actual camera, I don't usually get the angle correct. Thus, the one that I took with Alvin in Bangkok didn't turn out well, thus it wasn't uploaded anywhere. Both of our faces got cut off in that photo.

Food Republic and Shopping @ Vivocity

Today, I had 1/2 day @ work and decided to go Vivocity with Yeng Yeng after work.

We had our lunch @ Food Republic, Vivocity. It is actually a food court but I like the concept of the food court. It is like eating place in the 60s-80s. Some of the photos taken:

(Hmmm... there is a variety of magaines, ranges from shape to PC world to MAXIM to MAXIM SPECIAL EDITION to FHM, etc. I guess someone will like this magazine stand too. =P )

It seems like alot of people are having 1/2 day. The place is full of people. I hate to go to places with so many people. I will not go to "squeeze" with people if not because I have to buy 2 christmas pressie. Managed to get one for Hui² since I'm meeting her tomorrow, at Vivo again. lolx.... But the other one, I cannot find the pressie. I got 2 options to choose from. But seems like one of them is not avaiable as it is limited edition. The other option, I still have chance to see if I can get it from queensway. Should have gotten it from Tampines Mall few months back. Hmm... but that will be too early for christmas pressie ya? lolx.... Anyway, shall see how ba..... If not, I have 2 other options in mind but that will not be "Activiated" unless I really cannot find the one in Queensway.

Well, was walking around and looking for a flat sole shoes. My flat sole shoes "opened mouth" when I was in Bangkok. I only realised it when I was on the way to Siam City, the amusement park. Thus, I did an "innovative thing" - chew on bubble gums and then stick it in between. lolx.... not sure if Alvin had seen me doing that.... =X

I saw a pair of shoes @ DMK but apparently it does not have my size. The only available sizes are at IMM and Amara. Thus I requested to have the shoes delivered to Century Square as it is nearer to me. My colleague bought a pair of shoes for herself too. Then I got myself DARK CHOCOLATE Digestive Biscuits from Marks and Spancer as I had carving for chocolates since it is christmas season. Got some potatoes chips as well.

After that, I took the train back to Tampines. It was a tiring day, especially my morning work is fully packed, except 1 child didn't turn up. I fell asleep in the train. Upon reaching Tampines, I decided to take a look at CS DMK, to see if I can get any mid-heel shoes as my high heels on most probably is only for attending dinner. I was trying..... and I saw this that I like it very much. I tried walking, and was quite comfortable with it. I think I can even brisk walk with it.... so that means it is not too high for me. Perhaps I am also getting used to heels shoes. Anyway, and I purchase it!!!

Die.... I think I became a shoes shopaholic already. But then, it is a necessity since my shoes is already spoilt and one is too tall for normal usage, and one is still not delievered. I should have one and each is also for different occasions. And, it is not that I will buy shoes every month right? Okay.... I know that is excuses..... so I will keep quiet.... lolx.... But I guess I won't spend much in Jan or Feb onwards.... unless there are special occasions? But isn't it recession?? Why is everyone still spending and spending and buy christmas pressies??
