God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. And ME to share all the pain, laughter, tears, sorrow, happiness, sun and rain with you! Let us endure all the 暴风雨 and 彩虹 together!

Day 2: Bangkok

12th December 2008

We went for breakfast in the morning..... then we went to take a look at one of the swimming pools. Apparently, it was only 1.2m..... so shallow for Alvin.....

After that, we went to Si Lom to walk to Chinatown... ...

The railway station

The train

Outside the railway station

And we got lost walking to Chinatown. Well, we just try to walk and walk. Until we don't know where we were and Alvin asked me to choose a road, and surprisingly, it was the right one and there we were:

Chinatown!!!

And we bought some stuff from this famous shop that sells pork floss etc..... I guess equivalent to our Mei Zhen Xiang etc bah.....

Then Alvin asked where I wanted to go after that. I was thinking of going to see the temple of the dawn. So we tried walking... .... and walking.... and we came to a pier. Apparently, we couldn't get a ticket at that pier. We need to buy it from the start, at one of the piers. But I managed to capture some photos at the pier:

Hmm.... Alvin was looking at the map to see where we were:

Then Alvin was saying that the Temple of the Dawn was too far away already. We will take hours for us to get there by foot. Maybe we could go back there any of these days, which I didn't tell him that I wanted to go back, so in the end, we didn't go back also.

Next, we saw this Giant Swing, which is supposingly a tourist attraction. But I don't know why it was called a Giant Swing.

After that, we decided to settle for KFC for lunch as we don't know where were we and we were all hungry.

After that, we went to the Golden Mount, another tourist attraction.

A stairway leading to the temple

A lotus we spotted in one of the water tank

A closed-up view of the lotus

Photos of the buddhas

More buddhas photo

One more... ...

Dog also come to temple....

Beautiful sunset

More sunset

Another one

Sunset behind the tree

Another BIG sized buddha

After that, we headed back to our hotel and rest and bathe before we went out for our movie -
The day the earth stood still.

I'm pretty amazed with the cinema theater at Siam Paragon. They were so much better than Singapore's one. Firstly, all the seats are slope downwards that no one will block you from the screen even if they were very tall. Next, the seats armrest can be put up, which made it a good place for couples to watch movies together. The movie was not too bad.

The trailer was as follows:

Anyway, I was very happy that Alvin passed his exams!!! =P

GREAT!! I always know that you can make it!!! =)
