God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. And ME to share all the pain, laughter, tears, sorrow, happiness, sun and rain with you! Let us endure all the 暴风雨 and 彩虹 together!

6 Ladies and 2 Men during lunch

What happens when 6 ladies and 2 men get-to-gether?

We talked from this Friday's Toto on the 08/08/08 to relationships to marriage... ...

We joked that we can open a new company if we buy and win the toto.... just nice... 8of us. We can call 83 or HAPPY FAMILY. lolx....

One of them mentioned, which is quite true:

"No hope, no wish, no want, no chasing after it... ... when it's time.... it
will come naturally."

Quite true. I'm sure there is a quote to go with it.

"Love is just like a butterfly. The more you chase, the more it will escape.
It will return to you when you least expects it."

So.... no more "chasing"... ... just let it be. When it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Whatever will be, will be. Quite cliche eh?

Anyway, I will "just be there"... ... You know it.

In another conversation, we talked about what guys and gals looked for.

Gals talking about what guys looked for:
(picturing my colleague doing the following actions... that was funny....)
  1. Pretty Faces
  2. BOOBS
  3. BUTTS

(I can't helped but reminded of someone and laughed... lolx.... who told me where the meat must go to. No. 2 and no. 3. lolx.)

Guys defending themselves:
"Don't tell me you all don't look at faces meh?"

Gals commented:
"We do, but that is more at the bottom of the list. We looked at the heart.
And all other inner things."

I guess I always enjoyed discussions on such issues as it gives me a diferent perspective of different people.

灵异怪谈 Incredible Tales

I was watching this 灵异怪谈 Incredible Tales last night on channel 8.

In this story, there is this gal who always tell the guy that she likes that “ 我不善于
卿卿我我(mushy)的话。” And she never get to tell the guy how much she misses him and loves him because the guy was involved in an accident and did not survived.

So moral of the story?

We always think that next time there is always a chance. But is there really a next time? So treasure your loved ones and tell them how you feel before it is too late. Say what you wanna say and do what you wanna do. There may not really be a next time.

As I am one who seldom say mushy stuff.... only once in a while to my LOVED ONE when I get really EMO that day. =)

As most of the time I won't say.... cause... it is meant to be felt with the heart!

Anyway, in case there is really no next time,

"I LOVE AND MISS YOU!"

(That's it... and this REALLY gonna be the last time I'm saying this)

59% of babies were born of Singaporean parents last year

According to channel newsasia, 59% of babies who were born in Singapore last year, has both parents who Singaporeans.

This is the summary of the article:

Statistic shows that 75% of the babies born in Singapore are fathered by Singaporean men while Singaporean women only accounted for 65% of them.

"If Singapore men are fathering more babies than Singapore women are giving birth to, then who is delivering the goods?"

It was reported that 6,071 babies who were born to Singapore fathers, has mothers who are either Malaysians, Indonesians, Chinese nationals, or are from other countries in the region.

According the article, "climbing the career ladder is one reason sociologists give for the low fertility rate among Singapore women, particularly among those with degrees."

An extract from the article, Associate Professor Angelique Chan, assistant head of Department of Sociology at the National University of Singapore, said:

"A woman puts a lot of effort, time, overtime, into her work in her early 20s, mid—late 20s, then she gets to be about 30 years old and then she is thinking about marriage but it’s hard for her to find someone (at that age). The older you get, the more entrenched you get in your lifestyle....and it gets harder to adapt to another person."
And Singapore’s Total Fertility Rate, which measures the average number of children a woman will have in her lifetime is currently stands at 1.29.

My thoughts:
Quite sad huh?
When the fittest inthe world survive, yet they have to give up other things? Does being the best mean so much?
Why some cannot understand being simple and content with what you have can be happiness and blissful as well?
I guess, with better educations, people expects to lead a better life... ... but sometimes when we are busying chasing some things in life... we tends to miss out other more important things....

Well....
I guess.....
That's LIFE!
IF I were given a choice, I would want to marry early(before 30s) and to give birth early too...

Dreams

What do you see yourself 5 years down the road? What is your dreams? Have you ever thought of it?

I had never, maybe I did, share the dreams with some of my friends....

Or rather, what are the things I can do, in the future... ...

So... what are my dreams?

In no particular order... ...

  1. To provide sports/recreations/outdoor activities for people with disabilities
  2. To provide services/products for people with disabilities
  3. To make use of technology to improve the life of people with disabilities
Why no. 1? Click the above link to find out more!

Why no. 2? Cause OTs are able to make recommendations in how we can modify the environment of people with disabilities to increase their independence level. At the same time, it can free the OTs in the acute settings to provide better care for the clients. And I always like to help my clients to repair their W/C and rollators until my colleagues and I were joking that next time I can open a shop to do such things.... lolx....

Why no. 3? As you know I am a TECHNO(logy) gal.... If I can, I hope to make use of technology to improve the life of people with disabilities. Hmm... Maybe I can open a nintendo wii games centre..... lolx... especially for people with stroke.... =P
And my JC Classmate MingGuang.... he has nintendo wii games@ home can? haha... we were joking that we shd go to his hse and play.... opps... sorry for the side-track....

Why the suddent thought of Dreams? Cause I was talking to Wen Jun yesterday at the gathering.

Haha... he even commented that.... well... we will never know what is planned for us... he said... who knows? maybe I may some people may just give everything up and get married.... which I think is true.

It might possibly happen to me if there is someone worthy for me who I am willing to give up everything for. =)

We shall see... ...

Anyway, anybody with similar dreams with me? Can contact me ya?
Esp. interested business partner... lolx....

Girl Girl

I had arranged for a full grooming for my girl girl on Friday with Mario[dog]com to be groomed on Sunday@6.30pm.

When I reached home from my gatherings yesterday, my dog was groomed. She has her fur-cut, apparently by my dad. Then I had to call up the shop today to cancel her appointment.

This is her photo:

Another means of communication

I was checking my past blog entries and I realised that I didn't post this up, it was dated 23rd Jan 2007. Edited abit and I think this is very true.

"When client reject therapy, they are telling you something - care more for me."
- (Lim, 2006)

I totally agree with the above statement and it is especially true with the elderly. Those who had been to a geritrics setting will agree with me too. I think perhaps this is due to the asian culture where we don't "ask" for affections and care from people. Perhaps it is one of the way to ask us to care more for them.

I remember during my CE3A placements, there are many a times that 1 or 2 clients may reject therapy and sometimes they can't tell you why they don't want. They may give reasons like they are tired, which are the truth sometimes.

It is heartening to see that after they know that you truly care for them, they are willing to participate in therapy session. I can still remember very clearly when I first attempted self-feeding with my patient who has mid-lower range of motion of the shoulders. He was abit agitated and do not really want to attempt. After some time, although it was still quite difficult for him even though with some modification to the environment and the utensils but he tried. The same patient, refused to draw blood to do some blood test despite the few attempts the person tried. Amazingly, in less than 5-10 minutes of explaining and care and concern for the patient, he agreeded willingly and even agreeded to go to gym for therapy.

I didn't know what was exactly was the thing that caused such a change that time..... perhaps like what HB had said, it could be because that they know that we cared for them. In return, I felt a really great sense of satisfaction and achievement for I didn't know a small thing like this can cause an impact on our patients.

I guess sometimes when people reject something/someone, it could be that they really don't want/is tired.

But sometimes, it is not what was said but how it was said.

Maybe, like what HB said before, it could meant:

"care for me more!"

or it could also meant:

"I want to see who cares to tear down the walls that I've built!"

Gatherings

I attended 2 gatherings this saturday.

First was mabel's bbq. A gathering for us to catch up as she will not have the time to talk to us during her wedding on the 16 August 2008.

Guys who I know (from my class that I repeated) turned up are: Zheng Rong, Ming Guang and Johan.
The guy from the class before I repeated: Wen Jun.
Yes. All guys, as usual.

That was a good catch up. Wen Jun and me still talks about those days where he and Daniel used to suan me like nobody business, which only god knows why. lolx.

And Wenjun commented I looked different. Then he realised that I always had ponytail back in JC and now I let down my hair. He said I looked better. Want to see my JC photo?

Yeah.... this is how I looked then, in 2003, in Ponytail.

Well, I guess I am a "late Boomer" too. Only start "dressing up" after graduating from NYP. And that is 2007? lolx....

Anyway, I am glad that I repeated my JC year 1 that I am blessed with such wonderful classmates. I was sharing with Wen Jun that how cooperative we were during our computer science course work for our A Level in year 1.

YES. We took 1 of our computer science course work in year 1. And 2 in year 2. That time, we will assign each and every 1 to memorise 2 lines of the questions. And when we came out, we will write out our own part and we will combine the question/informations together. That is what I call class spirit and together everyone achieves more.

With Zheng Rong, the conversation was how we were throwing paper balls in the computer science tutorial room during the period when we were studying, together with Leela, Gui Rong and Vai I think.

Johan, came before I was about to leave. Yes, sorry, my fault. Forget to confirm with you the time. This is CLASS REP's fault. Wah liew..... all of them still remembers I am the CLASS REP.

Well, we still joke about Mabel's other half during JC. He wasn't here for the BBQ.

Nevertheless, I was very happy for Mabel as she has found her happiness. May her married life be blissful and sweet. Shall see her again on the 16th August 2008.

Anyway the group photos will be posted up when I got it from Wen Jun but here is the photo I've taken with her:

After the BBQ at Pasir Ris Coasta Sand, I went to meet up with my buddies.

2nd Gathering

Anyway the buddies that turned up are aZ, hC and wC. All guys.

Supposingly to watch X-files but there was no screening at downtown cathay. They decided to watch either the Mummy or $ not enough. But..... both shows either left with the 1st row or they are left with individual seats. So, we decided not to watch and hangout some where for talk cock session. Maybe will catch it again. Someone mentioned that $ not enough is not bad as he went to watch it that night. And said that Lai Yi Ling is a loveable wife.

I met them at the E-Hub. And this aZ was telling me directions or his location and still dare to speak so loud and said,

"We are at the junction there..... junction of JUNYUAN SEC!"

Please let me remind you. That is Hai Sing Catholic High. Not Junyuan Sec. Junyuan Sec is in Tampines. You gave me such a shock that I thought you guys are back in Tampines.lol.

Anyway, when I met them, the 3 guys were playing 1 PSP. lolx..... they were standing next to this ferris wheel that I thought it looks quite pretty and colourful.

Anyway, we walked from E-Hub to White Sand's Coffee Club. They bluffed and said that we were going back home. They commented that I only know how to "kick" and "whine" like a doggie. Wa Liew..... But well.... I am not called doggie for nothing okay. lolx....

We went to coffee club and this is what I ordered:

Iced Blackberry Coffee

And we shared some cakes... ...

Mudpie Cake

Cheesecake

As usual, I am trying to snap some photos... ...

Photo with aZ, taken by wC... ... but not a good take.... cos my eyes are like.... closing.... sleepy....

Then I decided to ask wC to help me to take an individual shot:

How can I missed out trying to snap myself?

Irritating aZ preventing me from taking photo

But still... here it is!

BIG EYEBAGS sia.... But it is okay.... it makes it me! When people see eyebags it reminds them of? ME!!! lolx....

Well, after the coffee club, we decided to hang out somewhere else... ... they suggested MAC at somewhere but only to realise that it was already closed down when wC told us... ...

While they were deciding, I saw my interesting shadow... .... and decided to take a photo of it.

“Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see.”
- Martin Luther King, Jr. quotes

Then.... we decided to go back to E-HUB.... yesh... that is where I met them just now.....

On the way, I saw this prawning pool. Looks quite cool. Maybe one day I should go and try to fish the prawns.

And while I was taking the above photo... ... 3 of them just walked without waiting for me!
##$%@$%$...... lolx.....

SEE!

And now we reached back to the E-HUB!

The ferris wheel taken from outside...

Okay.... then we went to BK@Downtown. We chatted abit. But mostly, we were just doing our own things. wC and hC were playing with their phones, sharing files... ...

Me and aZ talking on and off.... then I was playing with my G900. Going online with Wireless@SG.... Then aZ started playing with wC's PSP.... I also want to play PSP!!! Late Bloomer again.... *yawn*

It was around 12.30am when we left the place. No more buses home. Thus, we went home with "BUS 11". We walked home via the park connector... ...

When I reached home.... it was closed to 2am. Thanks hC for accompanying me back. =) Took a bath.... and here I am blogging.....

Cheers to our friendship BROs..... =)

Things never told

As you readers know, I am a private person, I never blog about my family and relatioship/s... ... Today, I'm gonna reveal something that was never told by me... ...

Back in 2007, during CNY, someone had my fortune told. As usual, they will tell you about your life and of course - marriage.

As for my life, she said, in hokkien(and translated):

"You tends to get angry with yourself ."
I've blogged about the above statement before. If you are interested, you can click here. Otherwise please proceed to see what I have to say about her statement on marriage.

She commented that:
"You will marry late(which I don't know how late she meant). Most of the time, other people tends to 'block' and get the guy before you."
That time, when I heard it, it was so damn true can?

Let me see... ... I think there was 1....2.....3.... cases that happened before (2007's CNY) when she told me the fortune.

All the 3 of them got attached soon when I realised I had something for them (most probably just a crush I guess) and I will just give up... ... and never look back... ...

And I think it keeps on happening again and again... ... quite sad huh?

Sometimes I just wanna go against it to see it really is the case... ... wanting to prevent it from happening... ... again.... but seems like it doesn't work.

... ... but this time round, I seriously believe that this is not just a crush... ... and he is not attached now... ...

... ... But... ...

I don't know.

I am just .....

*speechless*

P.S: I'm not trying to get any pity here or what-so-ever but I'm feeling just so irritated that it keeps on happening... ... and yet I don't have any control over. It just happened.

Well, if you are wondering why am I so emo today... ... I guess it is because... ... people around me are getting married... ... =)

No Wind but Door closes on its own?

Today, the cleaner aunty at my workplace was telling me that she wanted to push the pail into the toilet after she has mopped the floor. She was about to pull the door knob towards her when the door closes. She knocked on the door thinking that there was someone who went in. To her dismay, there was no one.

And then, I received this sms from Moblog Website:

SPI whiteghost: Today is the 1st day of the Hungry Ghost month. Be aware of what you do! Check out http://paranormal.org.sg/forum for our latest discussions.

Sad Happy Love Songs

Someone has posted that love songs are all sad... ...

I do agree.... most love songs that I posted are all sad too...

Hmm.... so is there really no happy love songs? I afraid not. There are some, still.

According to Class95FM, these are the top songs that are voted by listeners to be the ultimate wedding songs:

  1. From this moment on - Shania Twain
  2. Love of a lifetime - Firehouse
  3. Everything I do, I'll do it for you - Bryan Adams
  4. I finally found someone - Bryan Adams & Barbra Streisand
  5. I wanna grow old with you - Adam Sandler
Other "happy" love songs voted by Class95FM listeners can be found here.

Among the 5, no. 1,3 and 5 are my favourites. No. 5 is very sweet. Especially if you seen the video clip of the Movie - Wedding Singer. (oh... that is another movie by Drew Barrymore)

This is the first time I listened to no. 2 and 4. I love them. Or rather, I LOVE all the 5 songs!!!

Here are the top 5 songs, with the lyrics:

No. 1: From this moment on - Shania Twain

(I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything
and everything and I will always care. Through weakness
and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better, for worse,
I will love you with every beat of my heart.)

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on

You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

No. 2: Love of a lifetime - Firehouse

I guess the time was right for us to say
We'd take our time and live our lives together day by day
We'll make a wish and send it on a prayer
We know our dreams can all come true with love that we can share

With you I never wonder - will you be there for me
With you I never wonder - you're the right one for me

Chorus:
I finally found the love of a lifetime
A love to last my whole life through
I finally found the love of a lifetime
Forever in my heart, I finally found the love of a lifetime

With every kiss our love is like brand-new
And every star up in the sky was made for me and you
Still we both know that the road is long
(But) we know that we will be together because our love is strong
(lyrics courtesy of lyrics007)

No. 3: Everything I do, I'll do it for you - Bryan Adams

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into your heart - you will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way

Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I'd die for you

Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
(lyrics courtesy of lyrics007)

No. 4: I finally found someone - Bryan Adams & Barbra Streisand

I finally found someone, that knocks me off my feet
I finally found the one, that makes me feel complete
It started over coffee, we started out as friends
It's funny how from simple things,
the best things begin
This time it's different,
It's all because of you,
It's better than it's ever been
'Cause we can talk it through
Oohh, my favorite line was "Can I call you sometime?"
It's all you had to say to take my breath away

CHORUS:
This is it, oh, I finally found someone
Someone to share my life
I finally found the one, to be with every night
'Cause whatever I do, it's just got to be you
My life has just begun
I finally found someone,
I finally found someone,
Did I keep you waiting? - I didn't mind
I apologize - baby, that's fine
I would wait forever
just to know you were mine
You know, I love your hair
- are you sure it looks right?
I love what you wear - isn't it too tight?
You're exceptional,
I can't wait for the rest of my life

CHORUS
Whatever I do, it's just got to be you
My life has just begun
I finally found someone
(lyrics courtesy of lyrics007)

No. 5: I wanna grow old with you - Adam Sandler

[Billy Idol (Speaking):] Good afternoon everyone.
We're flying at 26,000 feet, moving
up to thirty thousand feet, and then we've got clear skies
all the way to Las Vegas, and right now we're bringing you some in-flight
entertainment. One of our first-class passengers would like to sing you a song
inspired by one of our coach passengers, and since we let our first-class
passengers do pretty much whatever they want, here he is.

[Robbie Hart (Singing):]

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

More about Sagittarrius

Sagittarius is symbolized by the Archer. You're impulsive and inquisitive, needing travel and constant exposure to new foods, people, landscapes and things to do. Change is one thing you can't do without; you are a truth-seeker, and will go to the ends of the earth to find answers!

The sign of the Archer rules the House of Philosophy, something which speaks volumes about these inquisitive, knowledge-seeking souls. Sagittarians are truth seekers, focused intensely on learning about their lover and exploring them more deeply. Truth be told, the Archer wants to explore everything deeply, so conversations in bed can run the gamut from religion to politics, and which position is most comfortable. These versatile and charming folks enjoy taking a long drink from the cup of life, something which also makes them exceedingly flirtatious and great social animals. Sagittarian candor is only matched by the need for independence, a guileless raison d'etre which can be an aphrodisiac to many. The Archer loves a challenge, just the kind of thing which spices up their already hot love life.

What Sagittarius Needs
A true friend who can go toe-to-toe with the discerning Archer, while not making any serious demands spells pure bliss as a partner. These independent souls also prize a lover who understands and embraces the value of alone time. Mental stimulation can be as exciting as the sexual kind for Sagittarians, and if conversation is honest and open, things will continue to develop and grow. An equal in the bedroom is also a delicious reward. Foreigners, or anyone fairly exotic, are often an irresistible lure to the Archer.
The Sagittarius lover is a philosopher, wanderer and explorer who insists on living life to the fullest. The zest for adventure and quest for knowledge they possess will move many. Only independent folk need apply for this red-hot ride!

Sagittarius and Romance
The game of love is a straight ahead affair for the Archer, one where the rules are laid down from the start. A good time is important to Sagittarians, so playful dates will be the right appetizer for this zesty lover. Those born under this sign are intuitive, and as a result, have a good sense of what and who they want. The one lucky enough to get in their sights is in for a wild time! Possibly the sexiest part of the game for the Archer is maintaining a sense of independence in the face of a blooming relationship -- there is nothing sexier for these folk. One possible exception might be honesty, which is often why a Sagittarian lover is also a best friend.

Sagittarius in Relationships
Mental fireworks will surely fly in a relationship with the Archer, for nothing seems worthwhile without them. This eagerness to learn can make for one very curious lover. Sagittarians love the idea of a companion, a friend/partner who can share in their quest for truth and knowledge. This relationship will be active and spirited, filled with adventures to faraway lands, as well as exotic fantasies in the bedroom. Traveling has never been more fun than with the Archer! This enthusiasm comes with a keen sense of loyalty for a deserving partner, but the Sagittarian's lover must be careful not to make the mistake of becoming boring or possessive. If so, they'll be vanquished from the lair (minor rifts, though, are gladly patched up in bed). The ideal Sagittarius soul mate is well-read on everything from Philosophy to Sex, and is not afraid to practice what they preach.

Sagittarius in Love
Love is wonderful for many, but it's a bit of an enigma for the Archer. What, after all, is love? To libidinous Sagittarians, love is often sex, plain and simple. These straight-shooters want a partner who is a mental and physical equal, yet one who understands "love" on their terms. This means mutual independence and an ability for each partner to do, and be, exactly what they want. Love can be hard for the Archer, since a fear of intimacy often swirls around them. For this reason, a friendship first is often the best way to encourage a love relationship with these folk. If this can be achieved, it's splendor between the sheets.

Shape Run Photos is OUT!

The photos of my Shape Run 2008 is finally on the web. For those who have signed up and ran, just need to search using your bib number at Nike Women Website.

These are the photos that I downloaded from the website. Most of the photos look like I am going to collapse already, which luckily I didn't. But most of them seriously looks like I am grasping for oxygen.

Enjoy the photos!

Still at the start of my run... ...

Getting started... ...

Can you spot me?

Moving Forward... ...

Saw how tired I was?

Still moving forward... ...

And forward... ...

'Spot me' time!

Still going on... ...

My one and only individual photo by the org.

Best looking running photo!

Hmm... I guess I should start to practice for my other run too. Signed up for Great Eastern Run. Still considering whether I should be going for the 21km standard chartered run or not. Maybe I should. At least once in a lifetime and I will not regret and say I should have run huh?

=)

Running is just like my philosophy in life... ... Never gives up in what I believe it will be. Trying my best to do what I believe in. Persevere in what I think and feel it will be. As I do not want to haev any regrets in life. Even if I've ever made a wrong choice, I should not regret as there were considerations made before any decisions were made.

If we are too troubled about all the regrets that we have.. ... we will always be living with sorrow. =)
