God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. And ME to share all the pain, laughter, tears, sorrow, happiness, sun and rain with you! Let us endure all the 暴风雨 and 彩虹 together!

25th Birthday Celebration

My 25th Birthday, 10 December had just past. Thanks to all my friends who had sent me birthday wishes via Facebook and sms-es. Really appreciates it. To those who haven't send, I know you are busy or didn't want to send on purpose. Either way, you are forgiven. See how gracious I am? LOLX....

Anyway, I was on leave on that day. Don't like the idea of working on my birthday and it has been like that since I started working.

As usual, mom didn't know that it was my birthday if it wasn't me who told her the night before not to wake me up in the early morning. Anyway, my family don't have habit of celebrating birthdays. Sigh. As I missed my facial the month before as I went to Kluang, I decided to have a facial done on this special day. Wanted to do my Spa too but the masseur is off on Thursday. Thus, I only did my facial. My appointment was at around 2pm and my facial ended at around 4.20pm.

After which, I took train down to City Hall to wait for Sunita after her course. We didn't really arrange a place yet as we only said Central. If you had known me, usually if I have time to spend, I would usually stepped into bookstores like MPH and you can find me in areas that has self-help, horoscope or zodiac books.

Sunita messaged me after she finished her course and we arranged to meet at Orchard first and then headed to Demsey Hill.

After meeting up, we walked around Ion for a while, which I also did while waiting for her. This was my first time to actually walked around Ion. Most of the other time, I was just pasting by or headed elsewhere.

We then took a cab to Demsey Hill. This was the first time I actually dined and drink in Demsey. We stopped over at House Camp Barracks for dinner and wine. We arrived there quite early - around 6.30pm, alittle too early for dinner though. The place was quite cool as we sat outside and we could see the view of the nature aka forest. The interior of the restaurant, I must say it is quite interesting and I think they try to keep some of the features of the old barracks like the floor. As a lady that likes to take photos, how can I miss the chance of taking some photos right? So here they are:

The Barracks Menu
(Looks interesting isn't it?)

Me with the Menu
(which looks like a newspaper)

Let us take a look at their toilet:

Hand Tissue under the lamp

Chairs in the toilet

And I found a medal in the toilet!!!
(but guess where the medal was found?)

Hanging somewhere?

No.....

It was on the mirror!

And here's our food!!! We ordered some appetizers, salad and soup first, with 2 glasses of wine (it's 1-for-1 promotion for the wine and house pour)

Truffle Fries

The truffle fries has some "gassy" taste.... you know the smell or taste of GAS? Ya... those gas stove smell? Apparently Sunita said it is the taste of Truffle. Truffle is a type of fungi and she said it can cost thousands and even million of dollars for the Truffle. I wondered why people like to eat "gas". Puzzled. lolx.

The other dish is Baked Brie with bread:

The baked brie is actually Cheese. The cheese actually looks like a piece of chicken until you tasted it. And the bread comes in different type: Walnut, raising and butter I think.

And I ordered a soup for myself!

Sweet corn crab soup

I loved this soup. Because I loved sweet corn soup and I loved crab. Putting 2 of my favourites together. It is just fantastic!

One of the other dishes that I like is the Macamadia crusted pumpkin salad:

I loved this because it is SWEET!!!

How would I forget about the red wine:

Sunita ordered a glass of wine for each of us as it was one-for-one. =)

Well, we had a long chat on people we like. The type of guy that we like seemed to fall in the same category. It has been a long long time since I shared the story. I guess only Hui Hui and aZ knew about the story as I don't really like to share relationship stuff unless it is something that is quite stable.

Hmm, we had a cocktail too. Because we mistaken that one-for-one is applicable for wine and cocktail. It is actually but only wine-for-wine and cocktail-for-cocktail. This is the cocktail:

It was 9 plus when we were about to leave the place to our next destination - DESSERTS!!!!! Before we left the place, how could I take photo of the signboard?

House Camp Barracks

Looks quite dark here

As we were walking along and towards our destination - PS Cafe, I took a photo of this:

Dempsey Hill Sign

We wanted to go to PS Cafe but it was closed for private event. Nonetheless, we managed to catch a glimpse of the event.

Grass field full of paper bags with tea light candles

Like this!

Since PS cafe is not available, we headed to Oosh......

Posing again......

Then we headed to the second level for dessert!!!!

Haha.... Sunita must have told them that it was my birthday that at least 5 staff bought over the desserts and sang birthday song. =)

What was my wish?
(My wish is.... I hope I will be......
I am not gonna tell you.... shhhs....)

Me with the birthday dessert:

Smiling!

A photo together:

Thanks gal for spending my birthday with me! I don't need to have many people to celebrate birthday with me. I am happy with just people who are important and close to my heart to celebrate my birthday. This is more than enough.

So, if you think you are important to me and close to my heart and didn't celebrate my birthday this year..... you better celebrate my 26th birthday with me next year!!! =)

Standard Chartered Run 2009

I went for the Standard Chartered 10km Run on the 6 December 2009. Last year I didn't run my 21km because my heath wasn't in a very good state to run 21km and I got an assignment to rush before I headed to BKK with Alvin last year.

As I was walking to our starting point from Raffles City shopping centre, it reminded me that Cafe Cartel is no longer there. Realised it about 1 month ago when I went for the Great Eastern Run. A little pity though, because this place was the place where I met Alvin for the first time and I remembered that he was so sweet to accompany me for dinner while he just ordered a drink for himself.

Anyway, these are some of the photos taken by Juat and myself. In fact, this time round, I didn't take alot of photos. Even Juat realised that. Maybe it was because the pouch that I was carrying was so good for my phone that it made it a little difficult to take my phone out. We met at 5-10 mins past 8. The run was at 8.30am. We were glad that we were blessed with good weather.

These are some of the photos taken on that day:

The crowd

More crowd

Crowd

Us among the crowd?

Yeah. Now u can see the crowd

Getting ready. Saw the girl in front with her tattoo?

And soon..... Off we ran. We were cutting crowds as many as we can. Or rather as many as I can. As I know I cannot go fast after perhaps 7-8km, I usually make up for the speed in from of the run, which actually shouldn't be the case. Anyway, we stopped over at 4km for some drink and we saw the sign:

Asking me to slow down?
(with drink still in my mouth)

Some photos of Singapore Flyer:

Finally, the 5km mark:

*Pose*

There was this interesting runner in front, which I cannot resist not to take photo. Maybe I should rephrase myself. It wasn't her that I cannot resist. It was the "thing" that she was carrying behind her back. It's the ELMO!!!!!! And the ELMO made some noise as she ran. Cute!

Then Juat asked me to stop over to take photo with a volunteer or supporter because they had interesting "hand".

After 8km, I asked Juat to go ahead with the run, to speed up as I did not want to slow her down. Already appreciated her for running with me for the first 8km. Thanks gal.

Finally, we were back at the end point with some "carnival".

A super HUGE "thing" caught my attention and it is:

These HUGE New Balance Shoes

Let me help you to tie shoes lace

Me and Juat

We went to Raffles City's Toilet for a little clean up and answering the nature call before we proceed for our breakfast. And I saw this car and went in to take photo:

Then after that, we went to our usual breakfast place and I decided to settle my lunch there too:

I know it is alot but only for that day. Because I was really hungry after the run.Btw 1 of the cup of coffee and the plate of bread belongs to Juat. =X

Tampines Central GRLs Bowling Competition and Bowling Gathering with Hui Hui

Too many updates not yet posted. This entry will be on the bowling competition that I participated in on 29th November. This competition was for the Grassroot Leaders (GRLs) in Tampines Central and my YEC formed up 2 teams for this competition. And I am proud to say, my team got 2nd in position!!! And that's after the Tampines Central CSC. =)

This are some of the photos taken by either Derrick or Karen:

Hmm.... whose turn now?

Yeah! We ended up with a team trophy and a medal each. *happy*

**********************************************

On the 3rd December, I met up with Hui Hui after so long. I think the last time was when we went to watch the Transformer movie. =P

Yeah. So we went to play bowling. Something that we had not been doing for quite some time. We remembered going to the Grassroot Club next to NYP during one of our exam revision. We bought sandwiches for dinner from NYP and headed to Grassroot Club for a game. Too bad that the place no longer has bowling alley.

Anyway, we met up at Marine Square and as Hui Hui was early, she already made a booking for 7.30pm lane. We initially wanted to play just 2 games. But the games went on quite fast. Before we knew it, the 2 games were over and it was only 8.30pm. Well, we went on for the 3rd game. Chatted. Pause in between so that we don't play so fast. And then we went on for our 4th game. It didn't end. We went on for the 5th game! I think I've or rather, we've broke our record for playing so many games one shot.

As usual, we catch up on how's things are going on in each other lives. About work and relationships. what else right?

Yeah. And if you know me, I would take a photo or two. And here they are:

Hey gal, we shall catch up again when you are back from your holidays....... =D

Broken - Leona Lewis

Just wanna share this song with everyone. This is a nice song, particular nice tempo and nice voice. The lyrics is quite depressing and emotional though. =(
A song shared by Alvin on the 17th November 2009.

You can take away all my love
What do I need it for
You can take away all these words
There's no meaning anymore
You can take away everything
Leave me lying on the floor
All those sorry's we can't go back to the start
You can't fix me, I'm torn apart

I wanna run away from love
This time I have had enough
Every time i feel your touch, I'm broken
Shattered all my pieces of part
Never thought I'd fall so hard
Putting back together my heart, It's broken

You can take these photographs
Watch them fade away, oh
You can throw away all these letters
I don't care about what they say
All those sorry's, there's a million reasons why
You can't mend me, don't even try

I wanna run away from love
This time I have had enough
Every time I feel your touch, I'm broken
Shattered all the pieces of part
Never thought I'd fall so hard
Putting back together my heart, I'm broken

I know it's gonna take some time
To finally realize
I got nothing let inside

Nothing to hide
I'm broken, I'm broken
My heart is oh, oh, oh
I'm broken, I'm broken
There's nothing left inside
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Save me

I wanna run away from love
This time I've had enough
Every time i feel your touch, I'm broken
Shattered all the pieces of part
Never thought I'd fall so hard
Putting back together my heart, I'm broken

Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, I'm broken
Oh, Oh Oh, Oh, Save me
Oh, Save, Me
I'm broken
