God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. And ME to share all the pain, laughter, tears, sorrow, happiness, sun and rain with you! Let us endure all the 暴风雨 and 彩虹 together!

Sometimes...

Sometimes.... I just wonder... why there are people who can just comments so much and do nothing.... not even help or ask if you need help?

Sometimes... people just chase and chase... and think it is easy to do since you are an expert in it...

Sometimes... people just think that you have the whole time to do stuff because you are a student....

Sometimes... people just think that you have only 1 committment.. but only god knows YOU have MANY MANY COMMITTMENTS....

Sometimes... people thinks that you should start doing projects early and not cramming till the last min... BUT do THEY KNOW that YOU have countless projects to be done.... and not forgetting individual assignments and attachment works....

Sometime.... people just want to judge a person by the way you walk... they should walk in your shoes and walk for themselves....

Sometimes....

(Addendum: S commented that this entry sounds like I am at the verge of breaking up with someone.... this entry is NOT abt BGR la.... I am still SINGLE BTW... LoL... )

Roles and responsibilities

Sometimes I always wonder.... why do I put myself into all these kind of shits roles and responsibilities.....

WHY!?!?!

Seems like I got lotsa of things at hand now.... NYPNPCC club.... minutes.... Youth Camp....

Why I can't just let go of things and let it be...

Why must I tire mysef with all this matters....

Can I ever be follower and not be a leader/ facilitator?

I have been doing alot of leader roles these few weeks....
I am tired for now.... really really tired....

I am a human being... I do get tired... Sometimes I just want to stop doing anything...
But.... I still have to get back to reality....

It is me... and just me....

Rory O'Shea was here

The following movie seems to be very interesting... perhaps due to the course that I'm in... where we valued clients' independence......

Maybe can go and rent DVD or VCD in neighbouhood VCDs shop...hope there is this show.....

Two guys facing more challenges than most people learn some valuable lessons about life and love in this comedy drama. Michael Connolly (Steven Robertson) is a young man in his early twenties who suffers from cerebral palsy; confined to a wheelchair, Michael's speech is unintelligible to all but a handful of people, and his situation has made him shy and withdrawn as he spends his days at a home for the disabled in Dublin.

One day, a new arrival moves in at the home -- Rory O'Shea (James McAvoy), a lad about Michael's age who suffers from muscular dystrophy and can only use two fingers on one hand. This, however, hasn't stopped Rory from developing a sharp tongue, a quick wit, a taste for alcohol, and the courage to put the moves on any women who crosses his path. Rory can also understand Michael's attempts at speech, and Rory puts his outsized personality to work encouraging his new friend to become more outgoing and not to let life pass him by, despite his handicaps.

In time, Rory and Michael are able to convince Eileen (Brenda Fricker), director of the home, that they should be allowed to get an apartment on their own, and the boys use their stipend to rent a flat and hire an assistant to help with the tasks they can't manage. Rory chooses Siobhan (Romola Garai) for the job, mainly because she's blonde and pretty, and she soon becomes attracted to him; unfortunately, Michael has fallen in love with her, and this leads to a major rift between him and Rory that drives them apart. Screened in the United Kingdom as Inside I'm Dancing and in the United States as Rory O'Shea Was Here, the film won the Audience Award at the 2004 Edinburgh Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Interesting conversations

To protect the identities of the people in this entry, all the names have been changed. Unless you are physically present during the conversations.

Yesterday at the seminar,

Mr X: "Sometimes it is hard for parents to have reciprocal love from child who have developmental delays. "

Mr X: "Reciprocal love is something like....."

Mr X: " I like Ms Y but Ms Y don't like me. "

It seems like Mr X is taking this opportunity to express his love for Ms Y. =)
and well, We were "gossipping" last year that Mr Y may have a crush on Ms Y .... haha...
but then it was just an example given by Mr X to explain his comment. Who knows? maybe he was really taking a chance... LoL....

--------------------------------------------------------------------

In today's conversation with Ms A,

Ms A: "Hippo is a greek word for horse."
Me: "Then what is hippotamus?"
Ms A: "It is a horse in the sea...... so it is a SEA-HORSE!"

Ms A who likes to play bowling, was telling us how her 1st bowling ball came about:

Ms A: "My 1st ball is my father's ball."

Am I a talent, a lifer or a mandarin

I'm a Talent!

You're a risk-taker, and you follow your passions. You're determined to take on the world and succeed on your own terms. Whether in the arts, science, engineering, business, or politics, you fearlessly express your own vision of the world. You're not afraid of a fight, and you're not afraid to bet your future on your own abilities. If you find a job boring or stifling, you're already preparing your resume. You believe in doing what you love, and you're not willing to settle for an ordinary life.

Talent: 69%
Lifer: 33%
Mandarin: 38%

Take the Talent, Lifer, or Mandarin quiz.

Which sports car am I?

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Few hours of disabled

I was on a wheelchair and crutches last friday. Worry not. I was not injured, nor was I disabled. It was just a little homework I had to do.

My assignment is to plan an outing for HWA clients to use the NEL MRT( on paper la...).

The journey of me in a wheelchair starts all the way from the time I borrowed the wheelchair from Zaniel. (Anyway, if you didn't know, I was on a wheelchair on Thursday too... it was for my presentation. I did wheelchair dancing on it.) It was tedious just to get myself out of NYP....
The lift from level 1 to B1 is abit scary... it didn't opened when it reaches B1... until like 10 secs later? Don't know if it opened after I pressed the buttons...

The slope at the sheltered area was also quite steep.... but well... an adventurer like me will find it challenging.... haha... there was this lady that wanted to offer to push me up the slope and I said it was okay.... I didn't to accept her help as I do not want to"cheat" on her feelings.

Up the slope to the MRT is also very tedious.... I was on the wheelchair until We (I was with my other 4 friends actually) boarded the lift. I then exchanged the role with wendy.

Wendy then became the "disabled". Something unexpected happened when the train came. Wendy wanted to board the train and her w/c wheels got stuck into the gap bet the platform and the train!!!! Huihui and zhenru who had boarded the train looked with shock! Me, who was still on the platform was also shocked at first but I responded when I heard " Doors closing....."

I immediately pulled wendy out... If not .....
Huihui and zhenru immediated "alighted" before the door closes.....

Hmm... we then problem-solve the situation... we decided to go in the train using the back approach... and... we boarded!!!! = )

We then alighted at douby gaut.... I was on crutches when I boarded the 1st lift at douby gaut... all the way until a lift in plaza singapura.... it was tiring to be on crutches.....

Hmm.... I con't to be on crutches after my lunch.... till the lift at habour front..... I was on wheelchair again.... It wasn't very nice feeling to be on wheelchair.. where everyone "looks down" on you like a child.... Tried using the disabled toilet.... hmm... the wheelchair can go in.. but think the disabled can only transfer himself onto the toilet using side approach... but only the left hand side has grap bars.....

Was crossing my fingers hoping that no disabled is waiting for the toilet outside....

I was also trying to act as disabled as possible, so as not to cause a distress to the public....

Well, we also took some photos.... to be uploaded after my friends transfer to her computer...
=)

BTW, that day is also a day where we see the most number of wheelchair users out in the public.... I think we saw 3...... that is a good sign...... =)

What can inspire me divinely?

Xiu Ling, you're divinely inspired when it comes to Culture!

Get up and go? You've got it. You enjoy new experiences and new people because you are inspired by how others view the world. You're not only curious, you allow for the possibility that there are many ways to approach life. And what better way to find the right path for yourself than by discovering what other cultures admire as art, how they communicate with each other, and what they enjoy as delicacies. After all, it's the journey that's important to you, not necessarily the destination.Since you're open-minded, you probably enjoy moving from one crowd to another, with equal enthusiasm for all kinds of people. And your natural ability to create a friendly environment for everyone will serve you well wherever your journeys take you. Bon voyage!

Who will my crush be? (emode test)

Take this test at Tickle

Your crush is the Class President.

Hello, First Lady. A smart and motivated gal like you should set your sights high when it comes to your crush. Forget the slackers or burnouts. You should go for a guy who's got brains, ambition, and people skills (good looks wouldn't hurt either). Only an achiever and well-liked beau will be able to keep up with a first-class lass like you.

A guy who's heading up the student council, spearheading a car-wash fundraiser, and winning everyone over with his charisma and charm is the right candidate for you. He's the responsible type who'll make Mom and Dad proud. And you'll feel proud when your next stop is the campaign trail or The White House!

Who Catches Your Eye?

Reflections on CE 2B

This CE placement seems very stressful for many....

Many people have broke down many a times... some during mid-eval, some during final eval.... while some in between evals.... some in front of lecturers too.... And me, inclusive.... I didn't cry... but almost....

This makes me realised.... why are all these happening?
It is because we are unable to handle stress? or are our supervisors having too high expectations? Or are we still living in our protective shells, unwilling to come out to face this working reality? Are we preforming up to our own expectations?

I guess the only not so stressful components of CE2 is the interaction part with clients. I have also enjoyed listening to life stories of people. I really like listening to the life stories of people because it is an experience that no one else will ever have, even given the same situation.

Guess some of us have phobia of CEs liao..... but guess all these have to be addressed before we go out for our placement in june.... if not, we will sure to underperform....

God (may it jesus, buddha, guangyin.... or other religions) bless all of us....
